Two teams of dedicated swimmers are taking on a non-stop 24-hour relay challenge to help children with disabilities learn how to swim. The group, known as Mermob, brought together by their shared love of open water swimming at Six Hills, aims to raise money for national charity Level Water.
Funds for Specialist Equipment and Lessons
Funds raised through the endurance swim will go directly towards specialist equipment and swimming lessons to give disabled children the chance to enjoy the water. The event takes place on August 22–23 in Worcester, where swimmers will complete more than 75 miles combined during the gruelling noon-to-noon challenge.
Mermob's Mission
A spokesperson for the team said: "We're Mermob, a group brought together by our love of swimming at Six Hills. It's had a real impact on our lives, and we want to share that joy with others."
How to Support
Organisers note that just £15 is enough to fund a life-changing lesson for a child with disabilities. To support the team and donate to the cause, visit the official fundraising page.
