Tragic Discovery of Missing Birmingham City Fan

The brother of a teenage Birmingham City fan who vanished during a match has paid a heartfelt tribute to his "best friend" after a body was discovered in a river near the football ground. Remains believed to be those of Paul Pike, 18, were found by police officers searching the River Derwent close to Derby County's Pride Park stadium on the morning of Sunday, March 30.

The discovery came just over a week after Paul disappeared, having travelled to watch Birmingham City play Derby County on March 21. Fans from both clubs were actively involved in the extensive search efforts to locate him. His brother, Andrew Fuller, expressed his grief on social media, posting: "Paul - my dear brother and best friend … R.I.P mate until we meet again KRO."

Mr Fuller also urged Birmingham City supporters to join a memorial march to the Kop car park ahead of the home game against Blackburn Rovers, scheduled for 1.30pm on Good Friday, April 3, to honor Paul's memory.

Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed that a body, believed to be that of missing Birmingham City fan Paul Pike, was found in the River Derwent near Pride Park, close to where he was last seen. The discovery occurred just before 10.30am on Sunday. While formal identification is pending, Paul's family has been informed and has requested privacy.

The police stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious, with no believed third-party involvement.
