Former England footballer Alex Scott has publicly addressed her recent experience on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, expressing frustration over how the show was edited. The 41-year-old, who was the first celebrity evicted from the current series in Australia, gave a candid interview to Ranvir Singh on Lorraine following her swift return to the UK.
"My Fun Side Wasn't Shown": Scott's Editing Critique
Alex Scott revealed that the British public saw a limited version of her time in the jungle. She explained that the condensed nature of the hour-long show meant much of her lighter moments were left out. "I had so much fun, and that bit wasn't shown," Scott stated. She told viewers she was known as the 'Games Master' among fellow contestants for the activities she organised, a side of her personality she feels was omitted from the broadcast.
"When I reflect, I wish more of the fun stuff, people had seen that side of me," she added, expressing a desire for audiences to have seen "the more fun Alex Scott."
Family Emergency and a Rush Home
Scott's departure from the competition and immediate flight back to Britain was due to a serious family medical crisis. Her partner, singer Jess Glynne, was absent from the traditional reunion at the end of the bridge because her mother had suffered a severe stroke and undergone brain surgery.
Providing a heartfelt update, Scott said, "She's in critical care at the moment so we've been at the hospital every day." She confirmed she and Glynne were heading straight to the hospital after the TV interview. The athlete also disclosed she had nearly pulled out of the show before flying to Australia due to the situation, but was encouraged by Glynne to participate.
Scott's Pick for Jungle Royalty
When asked by Ranvir Singh who she wanted to see crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, Scott shifted focus from the front-runners. While acknowledging that contestants like 'Ginge and Aitch' had received significant airtime, she voiced strong support for fellow campmate Shona.
Scott highlighted her special bond with Shona, arguing that the public hadn't seen the full extent of her journey, particularly regarding her discussions about anxiety and her fun personality. "I want her to win," Scott declared, though she conceded the final victory would likely be "between the boys."
The interview on Lorraine, which aired on December 5th, 2025, provided a raw and personal insight into Scott's abrupt exit and her reflections on a reality TV experience that, for her, played out very differently on screen than in reality.
