Lloyd Glasspool Celebrates Historic Season with LTA Award Win
British tennis star Lloyd Glasspool has capped an unforgettable season with a prestigious award success, as he and doubles partner Julian Cash were honoured at the LTA Awards. The all-British duo shared the title of Doubles Player of the Year at the ceremony held at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton on Thursday 16 April 2026.
A Season of Historic Achievements
The ATP world number four and five made history last July by lifting their first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. This victory marked the first time in 89 years that an all-British team had triumphed at the Championships. Later in the season, the pair became the first all-British duo to top the world doubles rankings, having claimed a total of seven ATP titles in 2025.
Glasspool, hailing from Redditch, expressed immense pride in receiving the award alongside Cash from Sussex. “Being named Doubles Player of the Year is a tremendous honour for both of us,” Glasspool said. “The season has been unforgettable — from the early titles to the run on grass and everything in between.”
Celebrating Tennis Excellence Across Britain
The LTA Awards, presented by Lexus, are designed to celebrate the passion, dedication, and impact of individuals who help tennis and padel thrive throughout Britain. First launched in 2015 by former LTA President Cathie Sabin OBE, these awards honour the extraordinary contributions of volunteers, coaches, officials, and players who dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to grow the sport at every level.
This year, more than 3,000 nominations were submitted across 14 award categories, reflecting the incredible depth of talent, service, and innovation within British tennis and padel. Each winner was recognised for making an outstanding contribution to the sport and helping to open it up to more people than ever before.
Commitment to Grassroots Development
LTA President Roy Colabawalla, speaking after the event at the National Tennis Centre, emphasised the importance of grassroots tennis and padel. “The LTA Awards are a chance to recognise the people and venues who truly keep our sports thriving,” he said. “Grassroots tennis and padel are at the heart of everything we do, and it’s the dedication of volunteers, coaches, officials, and organisers that opens the game up to communities across Britain.”
Colabawalla added, “Every finalist demonstrates remarkable commitment, creating opportunities for others and inspiring the next generation of players. Looking ahead, our goal remains clear: to continue to make tennis and padel welcoming, accessible and exciting for everyone, wherever they are and whatever their background.”
The success of Glasspool and Cash at the LTA Awards not only highlights their individual achievements but also underscores the broader efforts to promote and develop tennis in Britain, ensuring the sport remains vibrant and inclusive for all.
