Notts Hotshots Cheer and Dance Academy has secured qualification for both the 2027 All Star World Championships in Florida and the European Summit Championships in Lisbon, marking a major milestone for the Nottinghamshire-based squad.
Qualification Achieved
The academy, based at Headstocks Industrial Park in Watnall, earned its spots at the two prestigious international events after competing against top teams from across the country. This follows months of intense training and builds on previous success, having reached the finals of the world competition in earlier years. Now in its 13th year, the academy supports 242 athletes ranging from young children to senior competitors, with staff and families attributing the success to a supportive team environment and strong community values.
Two Squads to Represent the Region
Two specific squads will represent the region on the global stage: elite cheer squad Renegade and senior lyrical dance team Ascend. Both earned invitations after exceptional trial performances, demonstrating the academy's depth of talent across different disciplines.
Community Fundraising Campaign
To help cover travel costs and competition fees, the academy has launched a community fundraising campaign. Supporters can make contributions online to ensure every qualifying athlete has the chance to perform abroad. Organisers hope local residents and businesses will back the squad as they prepare for the international events.
