One of the most scenic endurance events in the country is making a welcome return to the Peak District this summer. Around 3,000 runners, walkers, and joggers will gather in the region to take on a variety of different distances. The popular Peak District Ultra Challenge will take place between July 4, 2026 and July 5, 2026.
Impressive Charity Fundraising
Participants have already raised a staggering £500,000 for various charities ahead of the big weekend. The massive event will start and finish at a special basecamp set up in Bakewell.
Scenic Route Highlights
Those taking part will head out to explore some of the most famous scenery in the national park. The route will take in stunning highlights, including the historic Chatsworth House estate and the Monsal Trail. People will also be treated to sweeping views across the rugged dales and limestone valleys.
Economic Boost for Local Businesses
With thousands of visitors expected to travel into the area, the event will provide a welcome boost to local hospitality businesses. Hotels, pubs, cafés, and shops across Bakewell and the surrounding villages are set to benefit from the increased footfall.
Distances and Participation
Participants can choose to tackle distances ranging from 10 miles up to a challenging 100km. The event is open to all abilities, and people can choose to take on the course solo or as part of a team.
