Wolverhampton Woman Wins £12,000 on Football Predictions

A Wolverhampton woman has been left absolutely stunned after winning a £12,000 jackpot by correctly predicting a set of football scores described as "impossible." Alison, a 57-year-old lifelong Wolverhampton Wanderers fan from Fallings Park, scooped the top prize in The Pools competition after her forecast of seven score draws came true.

From Humble Bet to Life-Changing Win

Alison, who works at the city's famous Chubb Locks factory, admitted she thought little of her unlikely punt when she placed it. She was working from home when she discovered her win, saying it "took a moment to sink in!" The next day, she celebrated by buying bottles of wine, gin, and cakes for her colleagues at Chubb Locks.

Family Celebration and Future Plans

Last weekend, Alison hosted a family meal for about 20 people, treating everyone to a three-course meal with drinks. "They were all over the moon," she said. With her £12,000 winnings, she is now planning a special trip to the Maldives with her husband Tim to mark their 25th wedding anniversary next year.

A Deep Family Connection to The Pools

Alison revealed a personal connection to The Pools, which is based in Liverpool. "My mum was from Liverpool, it feels very close to home. My mum was a proper scouser," she explained. Her father, Arthur, used to collect neighbours' Pools coupons for many years, enjoying the social aspect of the job. "The Pools has meant a lot to my family over the years," Alison added, noting she will continue playing despite her win.

The full list of Alison's correct score predictions included:

Her association spans generations," he said. "Picking seven correct score draws with Classic Pools is an impressive result and we tip our hat to Alison and hope she enjoys her amazing trip to the Maldives with her £12,000 winnings."
