Residents across Fylde are being encouraged to put forward the coaches, clubs, schools, and volunteers who make sport and physical activity a positive force in the borough. The Fylde Community Sports Awards 2026 are back following a strong response last year, with organisers aiming to celebrate the everyday heroes who help make Fylde healthier, more active, and more connected.
The awards highlight achievements both on and off the pitch, from coaches inspiring the next generation to volunteers who keep clubs and schools running week after week. Nominations are now open, with eight categories available this year.
Eight Categories Open for Nomination
The 2026 awards feature the following categories: Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Primary School of the Year, Secondary School of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, Health and Wellbeing Award, Volunteer of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
Councillor Jayne Nixon spoke about the importance of the awards, saying: “The Fylde Community Sports Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations who work tirelessly to make a difference through sport and physical activity.”
She added: “There are so many unsung heroes in our communities, and these awards are about making sure their contribution does not go unnoticed. I would encourage residents to nominate someone who deserves recognition.”
Winners Announced at November Ceremony
Winners will be revealed at a special awards ceremony in November, bringing together leading sporting and community figures from across Fylde for an evening celebrating the best of the borough.
Nominations close at 11pm on Sunday, September 27. Residents can nominate their sporting hero and find more information by visiting the Fylde Community Sports Awards webpage.
