HBBC Active Awards 2026: Nominate Hinckley & Bosworth's Sports Heroes
Nominate Now for HBBC Active Awards 2026

The search has officially begun to find and honour the unsung heroes of sport and physical wellbeing across Hinckley and Bosworth. Following the success of previous ceremonies, which saw groups like the Burbage Taekwondo Academy crowned Junior Club of the Year, the borough council has launched its latest call for nominations for the HBBC Active Awards 2024.

Celebrating Every Contribution to Community Wellbeing

These prestigious awards aim to shine a spotlight on the mentors, leaders, volunteers, teams, and clubs that go the extra mile. The council is urging residents to put forward anyone who has made a significant impact, whether by creating an inclusive environment, dedicating countless volunteer hours, or inspiring others to get active.

Deputy leader, Councillor Mark Bools, emphasised the awards' core purpose: "The aim is to recognise, promote and reward sporting and wellbeing achievements of clubs, teams and individuals across the borough. Whether it is someone you admire for their passion, or someone who has inspired you or your child, please take a minute and nominate them."

Who Deserves Your Nomination?

The council wants to hear about those special people and groups. This could be the instructor who made you feel welcome when you were nervous to start a new class. It might be a coach whose inclusive approach helped your child thrive. Or perhaps it's the dedicated individual who volunteers every weekend, rain or shine, to keep a local sports group running.

Nominations are split into two main groups to ensure all contributions are celebrated fairly. The categories are comprehensive, covering every aspect of community sport and activity.
