EasyJet Marks Newcastle Base Opening with Free Greggs Pastries
Budget airline easyJet is celebrating the launch of its new base in Newcastle by handing out free Greggs sausage rolls to travelers and local residents. This promotional event, which includes unique limited-edition dipping sauces, is part of a two-day celebration in the city.
Free Treats on Flights and in the City Center
Passengers flying from Newcastle Airport with easyJet today will receive complimentary Greggs sausage rolls onboard their flights. Additionally, easyJet cabin crew are distributing free Greggs items in Newcastle city center until March 25, using a special easyJet-branded trolley service at iconic landmarks like the Tyne Bridge, St James' Park, and the Angel of the North.
Limited-Edition Dipping Sauces Inspired by Destinations
The sausage rolls are accompanied by exclusive "Destination Dipping Sauces" that draw inspiration from holiday hotspots. These sauces feature unusual flavor combinations, including Sangria, Tarte Tatin, Harissa Ketchup, Kebab, and Affogato, adding a creative twist to the classic pastry.
New Routes and Economic Impact
The new easyJet base in Newcastle will operate 122 flights per week, introducing 14 new routes to destinations across Europe and North Africa. These routes include Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Enfidha, Faro, Lisbon, Malta, Nice, Prague, Reus, Rhodes, Rome, Sharm-El-Sheikh, and Tenerife, starting immediately.

This initiative is expected to support Newcastle Airport's busiest year on record, with an anticipated six million passengers, reinforcing easyJet's commitment to affordable and accessible travel from the North East.
