New Daily Flights from East Midlands Airport to Jersey Announced
East Midlands Airport has announced the addition of Loganair as a new airline, with daily flights to Jersey set to commence from May 31 this year. This new route will feature convenient afternoon departures from both East Midlands Airport and Jersey, operating every day, providing passengers with enhanced travel options for leisure and business.
Jersey: An Idyllic Island Destination
Jersey is renowned for its sweeping golden beaches, sheltered coves, and some of the warmest waters in the British Isles, making it an ideal backdrop for relaxation or adventure. The island boasts a vibrant gastronomy scene that blends fresh local produce with French-inspired flair, from seafood straight off the boat to award-winning restaurants and charming coastal cafés. Additionally, Jersey offers a wide range of leisure activities, including scenic cliff-top walks, cycling routes, boutique shopping, and family attractions, appealing to diverse visitor interests.
Loganair's Reputation and Expansion
Loganair, ranked among the top-performing short-haul airlines by Which? last year and named the UK's most punctual airline by the Civil Aviation Authority, brings its established service to East Midlands Airport. This marks the second new airline launch at the airport this year, following SunExpress's upcoming twice-weekly flights to Antalya in Türkiye. The new Loganair services significantly boost connectivity, offering a convenient link to Jersey and expanding the choice of direct leisure destinations from the airport.
Affordable Travel Options and Booking Details
Customers can now book seats on the new Jersey flights, with one-way fares starting from £84.99, which includes a 21kg baggage allowance. This competitive pricing aims to make travel more accessible for passengers seeking memorable getaways or business trips.
Statements from Airport and Airline Officials
Adam Andrews, Commercial Director at East Midlands Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, "It's fantastic to welcome a new airline to the airport and provide our customers with more choice. We know that Jersey is a really popular destination with our customers, and East Midlands serves as a fantastic gateway for islanders to access our great region and beyond. Loganair is a well-established and successful regional airline, and this announcement shows a commitment to providing great connections to and from Jersey. We look forward to working with them and exploring other opportunities together."
Ronnie Matheson, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, highlighted the importance of this expansion, saying, "Strengthening connectivity from Jersey is hugely important to Loganair, and these new routes represent a meaningful step forward for the island. By adding direct services to key UK cities, Dublin, and Paris, we're giving customers in Jersey more choice, better access, and greater flexibility when travelling for work, leisure, or onward connections. This is a particularly exciting milestone for us, and it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to investing in routes that deliver real value for island communities while maintaining the high levels of service and reliability Loganair is known for."
The introduction of these daily flights is expected to enhance travel convenience and support regional tourism, offering passengers from the East Midlands and beyond a seamless connection to the picturesque island of Jersey.
