The Royal Air Force's aerobatic team, the Red Arrows, is set to dazzle audiences near Birmingham this weekend at the RAF Cosford Air Show. Following appearances at the Midlands Air Festival, Isle of Man TT races, and Silverstone, the team returns to the Midlands on June 14.
What to Expect at the RAF Cosford Show
The show features precision flying, intricate formations, and the iconic red jets trailing red, white, and blue smoke. Although tickets are sold out, the display promises thrilling aerial maneuvers. Additionally, three new aircraft—the British Aerospace Hawk T1A, General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper, and Westland Puma HC1—will be on static display. These aircraft will later be housed in the museum's new exhibition, 'The RAF: 1980 to Today'.
Museum Details
The RAF Cosford Museum is open daily from 10am with free admission, but advance booking is recommended. The new exhibition is part of a sitewide transformation funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Tom Hopkins, RAF Museum Curator, said: 'We are delighted to announce the acquisition of these remarkable aircraft. Each represents a significant chapter in RAF history, from the Hawk of the Red Arrows to the Puma with over five decades of service.'
After the show, the aircraft will be reassembled for permanent display. For more information, visit the RAF Cosford website.
