Nationwide warns students: £100 cash offer ends October 22
Nationwide £100 student cash offer ends October 22

Nationwide Building Society has issued a reminder that its 2026 FlexStudent incentives offer will be withdrawn at 11.59pm on 22 October 2026. After this time, the incentives will no longer be available to new applicants, the building society confirmed.

The FlexStudent account, available at Nationwide branches in Birmingham and across the UK, has quickly become a popular choice among freshers. The account offers £100 cash, £120 in Just Eat vouchers and an interest-free overdraft of up to £3,000.

What students must do to qualify

To receive the offer, students opening a new FlexStudent account must deposit £500 and make five debit card payments by 11 December 2026. Nationwide, which competes with HSBC UK, Santander, NatWest, Barclays, Lloyds and other major banks, stressed that applications must be completed before the October 22 deadline.

Fred Powell, Head of Product at Nationwide Building Society, said: “The FlexStudent offer has proved hugely popular with students this year. With the incentives ending soon, we’re reminding anyone who wants to benefit from the offer to apply before the deadline.”

Payment schedule and voucher details

Students will receive £100 into their FlexStudent account within 14 calendar days of crediting it with at least £500 by 11 December 2026. They will also need to make five debit card payments to qualify for the cash incentive.

Eligible account openings will receive a registration code and can access a £10 voucher code every month for the first 12 months. These vouchers can be used online, and access will be provided within 14 days of the student becoming eligible.

Overdraft limits and graduate account

FlexStudent account holders also gain access to an interest-free, fee-free, flexible overdraft throughout their studies, subject to status. Students can set their own borrowing limits, with the ability to request up to £1,000 in the first year, up to £2,000 in the second year, and a maximum of £3,000 in year three.

Those with a FlexStudent account will have exclusive access to FlexGraduate – a post-university current account with an interest-free, fee-free arranged overdraft designed to help students find their feet after university. Nationwide's warning means students who want the £100 cash and other benefits must act before the October 22 cut-off.
