More than 340 bus drivers operating across Lincolnshire have received prestigious awards for their outstanding commitment to road safety and professional driving standards throughout 2025.
Record Number of Drivers Achieve Elite Status
A total of 344 drivers from Stagecoach East Midlands have earned the coveted 'Fleet Elite' status this year. This marks a substantial increase compared to 2024, when 232 drivers were recognised. The awards are managed by driver safety specialist GreenRoad, which continuously monitors performance. The 'Fleet Elite' title is reserved for operators who demonstrate sustained excellence, achieving outstanding safety scores and showing true mastery behind the wheel.
Sustained Excellence and Perfect Scores
Among the honourees, an impressive 96 local drivers have reached the highest tiers of 'Grand Master' or 'Master' status. This accolade is awarded for maintaining the highest standards of safe and fuel-efficient driving for periods of four and ten years respectively. Remarkably, 13 drivers managed to achieve a perfect GreenRoad safety rating of zero for the entire year.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, praised the team's efforts. "These are really impressive results that show how much effort our teams have put in to ensure we run a safe and smooth bus service each and every day," he said.
Safety Remains the Top Priority
Cranwell emphasised that the safety of both staff and passengers is the operator's number one concern. "I am extremely proud that such a huge number of our drivers have been recognised for their driving excellence," he added. The 'Fleet Elite' programme is designed to inspire a continued focus on road safety, serving as a source of pride for drivers who help reduce risk, improve safety for all, and ultimately save lives.
"We know that our customers rely on us, so we cannot get things wrong when we are out on the road," Cranwell stated. "Our drivers continue to demonstrate their commitment to achieving the highest standards, day in day out."
