UK Foreign Office Warns Tourists About New Indonesia Form

The UK Foreign Office has issued a warning over a new form that British tourists must fill out to enter a popular holiday destination. The travel guidance for Indonesia was updated on Wednesday, June 10, with the Foreign Office posting 'updated information about the All Indonesia Declaration Form and visa scams.'

New Declaration Form Required

Before travelling to Indonesia, visitors must complete the online customs and health declaration on the All Indonesia arrival card website or app within 72 hours of arrival. The Foreign Office emphasised that the All Indonesia arrival card is a free service, and travellers should avoid alternative websites or email links that request payment for this service.

After completing the form, tourists can also use the All Indonesia app to apply for a visa. The Foreign Office warned: 'Beware of visa scams by fake visa agents who, having taken your money, may fail to provide a visa or supply the wrong visa. This could result in you overstaying and getting a fine of 1 million rupiah a day, plus possible deportation and a re-entry ban.'

Rising Visa Scams

Visa scams are increasing in Indonesia, with some travellers losing significant amounts of money. Others have been deported despite paying large fees to agents for the correct visa or extension. The Foreign Office advises using only official government links provided via the FCDO travel advice to reduce the risk of engaging with fraudulent services.

Popular Destinations

With 17,000 islands to explore, holidays to Indonesia offer endless choices. The island of Bali features hundreds of hotels where stays often centre around massages, manicures, and milk baths. Lombok takes a more laidback approach, replacing spas with waterfalls and bar streets with volcano hiking trails. Another popular destination is Ubud, where UK tourists regularly visit to meet monkeys.
