Rail Disruption in West Midlands Enters Third Day

Major Rail Disruption in West Midlands Continues for Third Day

Train services across the West Midlands are experiencing significant disruptions for the third consecutive day following a major embankment collapse on the line connecting Worcester and Birmingham.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, February 14, has caused extensive delays and cancellations, particularly affecting passengers in Worcestershire. West Midlands Railway has confirmed that an amended timetable will remain in effect due to the damage between Worcester Foregate Street and Droitwich Spa.

Service Alterations and Passenger Guidance

As a result of the embankment collapse, trains operating between Hereford and Birmingham are now limited to running only between Hereford and Worcester Foregate Street. Additionally, services on the Snow Hill line may terminate at Worcester Shrub Hill instead of continuing to Foregate Street.

To assist passengers, rail replacement buses have been deployed to connect Worcester, Droitwich Spa, and Bromsgrove. West Midlands Railway is advising travelers to check for updates on ticket acceptance arrangements, which are expected to be confirmed on Tuesday morning.

Passengers are strongly urged to allow extra time for their journeys, as disruptions are anticipated to persist while repair work is underway. The railway company continues to monitor the situation closely and provide regular updates to minimize inconvenience for commuters.
