Kinver councillor reveals roadworks updates

Councillor Victoria Wilson has detailed a series of highways improvements and ongoing concerns across Kinver and its neighbouring villages. The updates follow what she described as a “productive” meeting with the council’s highways team.

Wilson said a range of road maintenance, drainage, and traffic management projects are either underway or planned for the area. She emphasised the importance of regular engagement with highways officers to ensure local issues are addressed and progress is tracked.

Drainage works and unresolved issues

In Kinver, drainage works on the High Street were completed in August, but further investigations are needed near the Baytree due to problems with two gullies. Long-standing drainage issues on Greensforge Lane remain unresolved.

Wilson attributed the Greensforge Lane problems to the absence of proper infrastructure, narrow road widths, and nearby waterways. These factors have made it difficult to implement a permanent solution.

Planned repairs for December

Elsewhere, pothole repairs are scheduled for Gospel End Road in Bobbington in December, following concerns raised by residents. Traffic light repairs in Baggeridge Village are also planned for the same month.

Wilson said she would continue pressing for improvements across the area while encouraging residents to report highways issues through Staffordshire County Council's online reporting system.
