The latest weather maps reveal that several towns in the West Midlands are set to miss out on the upcoming UK heatwave, which is expected to bring temperatures of up to 32°C within days. The heatwave, forecast to peak around June 15, will see much of England bask in warm weather, but the West Midlands conurbation will be excluded.
Heatwave Forecast Details
According to forecasts from WX Charts, 30°C heat is expected from June 14, rising to 32°C on June 15. However, the West Midlands, including major towns and cities, will not experience these high temperatures. The Met Office's outlook from June 8 to June 17 indicates changeable conditions early on, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing rain and stronger winds, particularly in the northwest. Towards the end of the period, higher pressure may bring more settled conditions, especially in the south.
Areas Missing Out
Towns such as Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Shirley, Chelmsley Wood, and Wolverhampton are among those that will miss the heatwave. Other areas include Dudley, Walsall, Brownhills, Bloxwich, Aldridge, West Bromwich, Oldbury, Cradley Heath, and Lye. Birmingham itself will also be spared, along with Willenhall, Bilston, Darlaston, Wednesfield, Tipton, Smethwick, Wednesbury, Rowley Regis, Netherton, Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Sedgley, Stourbridge, and Halesowen.
Long-Range Outlook
Looking towards the end of June, the Met Office predicts a relatively settled start with high pressure near the UK, bringing drier conditions. However, some showers or spells of rain remain possible. Winds are expected to be light, with temperatures likely above normal. Toward the end of June, low pressure may increase influence, especially in the south, where heavy showers and thunderstorms become more probable, and it may become hot in parts of the south.
