A precious metals business based in Wiltshire has secured a significant new partnership with the nation's official coin producer. Gold Traders UK, located in Royal Wootton Bassett, has been appointed as an authorised partner of The Royal Mint.
A Landmark Achievement for the South West
This appointment marks a notable first, as the company becomes the inaugural business in the entire South West of England to be granted this status. The partnership, confirmed in early 2026, grants Gold Traders UK the ability to buy and sell bullion bars and coins directly from The Royal Mint.
The firm was established 18 years ago by local entrepreneur Jon White, who also founded RWB Auctions. Mr White described the authorisation as a "pivotal moment" for the business, culminating from months of dedicated effort.
"Becoming an authorised partner of The Royal Mint requires a rigorous approval and due diligence process," he stated. "This is not easy to achieve and reflects the scale, professionalism, and transparency of our operation."
Building a Business on Trust and Transparency
The company's origins trace back to Mr White identifying a perceived lack of transparency in the precious metals market. Starting from his Wiltshire home, he built the enterprise on principles of ethical trading, accurate pricing, and customer trust.
This foundation has propelled its growth into a multi-million-pound operation, dealing in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium for private individuals and investors across the UK. Its commitment to standards was further recognised when it became the first precious metals dealer in the country to receive Trading Standards' Buy With Confidence approval.
Direct Access and Future Growth
As an authorised partner, Gold Traders UK is already offering clients 2026 bullion material sourced directly from The Royal Mint. This includes iconic products like the Gold Sovereign, one of the world's most recognised bullion coins.
"Direct access to bullion from The Royal Mint removes any uncertainty around authenticity," explained Mr White. "For people buying physical precious metals, that confidence really matters."
The firm is also expanding its physical presence. Last year, it opened a new branch in Bodmin, Cornwall, housed in the historic former HSBC building on Fore Street. The Cornish outlet is managed by husband-and-wife team Steve and Karen Watts, who oversaw the property's redevelopment after relocating from Wiltshire.
