Morrisons to Reward Shoppers Returning Delivery Bags Across 420 Stores
Morrisons Rewards Shoppers for Returning Delivery Bags

Morrisons has confirmed a new bag rule that will see shoppers get their money back across 420 stores. The supermarket chain will reward shoppers who return their delivery bags.

Morrisons, which has branches in Birmingham, currently charges 10p per carrier bag when delivering shopping. However, shoppers will see this fee taken off their final bill if they return the bags to their delivery driver.

The Morrisons website explains: "It is a legal requirement for us to charge for carrier bags. In the areas that we deliver shopping in carrier bags, they are charged at 10p each. You can however, hand your carrier bags back to the driver and the charge will be refunded on your final receipt. If your shopping is delivered in carrier bags, you can hand your bags back to the driver for recycling on your next delivery, and you will be reimbursed. Carrier bags that we take away are recycled so they can be used again."

Free Oranges for Kids During Football Tournament

In addition to the bag rule, Morrisons is bringing a juicy twist to the summer's football celebrations by giving away completely free oranges to children. In a nostalgic nod to the classic grassroots football tradition of orange slices at half-time, children visiting English or Scottish Morrisons stores can score a free orange on England and Scotland match days throughout the group stages.

This is not the first time the supermarket has looked after its youngest shoppers. This exciting tournament giveaway builds on Morrisons' highly popular, long-standing initiative of giving away free fresh fruit to kids in all its supermarkets, which has been running since 2018 to help families hit their 5-a-day.

Jacob Uren, Senior Citrus Trader at Morrisons, said: "Encouraging children to enjoy fresh fruit has long been important to us at Morrisons, and orange slices are such a nostalgic part of football culture. We hope our free oranges help keep little fans refreshed, energised and ready to cheer on England and Scotland this summer."
