£3.2bn Arden Cross Development Near Airport Set for 2030

A massive £3.2 billion development surrounding a new HS2 railway station near Birmingham Airport is set to deliver thousands of homes and create thousands of jobs. The Department for Transport has confirmed that development land around the HS2 Interchange Station will be available from 2030, following the recent HS2 reset announcement. This marks the next major step for the Arden Cross development, a 'once in a generation' regeneration of 340 acres of land located just over a mile east of Birmingham Airport.

Arden Cross HealthTech Campus

The first phase of the development will be the Arden Cross HealthTech Campus, designed to become a hub for research and development aimed at improving healthcare. It will support businesses in developing new digital and AI solutions, positioning the area as a centre for innovation in the health sector.

Council and Mayor Reactions

Solihull Council leader Karen Grinsell welcomed the news, stating: "I'm really pleased we can finally put some timescales on the exciting Arden Cross development." She emphasised that the site will feature thousands of new homes in a well-connected location and will generate thousands of high-quality jobs. West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker described Arden Cross as "a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create high-paid jobs, grow our cutting-edge businesses and provide the new homes our people need."
