Aldi is calling on the public to help identify the best locations for new stores across the UK. Britain’s biggest discounter is inviting customers to submit suggestions for where new Aldi stores should be opened.
The most requested locations will be reviewed by Aldi’s team as part of the discounter’s ongoing commitment to bringing its high-quality, affordable food to even more communities across the UK.
Investment and Expansion Plans
Aldi is investing over £370 million in new stores this year, as it works towards its long-term target of 1,500 locations nationwide. Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.”
“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay,” Neale added.
Previous Initiative Success
The supermarket ran a similar initiative last year, which saw locations in London, Merseyside and Oxfordshire recognised as priority locations amongst shoppers. Since then, progress has already been made to bring a new store near to Pendle Drive, Liverpool, and Hanworth and Willesden in London.
To nominate a town or area for consideration, customers are invited to email NextNewStore@aldi.co.uk and simply state the town they would like to put forward in the subject of the email. Aldi is asking for submissions by Thursday 18 June 2026, with plans to share the results and unveil the next round of priority locations later this year.
