UK Glass Firm Euroview Acquired by Competitor ESG Group After Administration

Euroview Architectural Glass Ltd, a UK-based architectural glass company, has been bought out of administration by its competitor ESG Group Ltd. The acquisition was completed as part of a pre-pack deal, ensuring the continuation of operations and the transfer of all staff members.

Financial Struggles Lead to Administration

The company, which was incorporated in May 2017, had experienced a significant decline in revenue coupled with input cost pressures, leading to severe working capital challenges that impacted its solvency. As a result, Robert Ferne and Jeremy Karr from BTG Begbies Traynor were appointed as Administrators on February 19.

Euroview had previously been involved in large-scale projects, including the 12-storey Eden at New Bailey office building in Manchester, showcasing its expertise in the architectural glass sector.

Pre-Pack Deal Secures Future Operations

In a statement, BTG explained that administration was necessary due to the financial difficulties, but they acted swiftly to secure a buyer. Mr. Ferne, Partner at BTG, emphasized the importance of preserving the company's long-established goodwill and customer base.

"Despite difficult trading conditions, there is demand for glazing services from the construction industry, and with the backing of its new owner, it is well positioned to capitalise on future growth opportunities," he said.

Strategic Growth for ESG Group

ESG Group Ltd, the acquiring competitor, views this acquisition as a strategic move to enhance its market position. Scott Sinden, Chief Executive of ESG, expressed pride in welcoming Euroview into the group.

"This acquisition accelerates our strategic growth and delivers a complete commercial glass solution for our customers, encompassing the building envelope through to interior glazing—including high-performance insulated glass units, balustrades, and processed interior glass. It's a major milestone and a first of this scale for the UK glass industry," Sinden stated.

The deal not only safeguards jobs within the local community but also positions the combined entity to better serve the construction industry's glazing needs, leveraging Euroview's established reputation and ESG's resources.
