Blue Light Card members can access gift card incentives worth up to £85 from four energy suppliers when switching to selected tariffs, ahead of the October energy price cap rise. ScottishPower is offering an £85 Amazon gift card for switching to an eligible dual-fuel tariff, while EDF Energy provides a £55 gift card with a choice of retailers including Amazon, Merlin, Aldi, Tesco, ASOS, or The Restaurant Group.
So Energy is offering a £40 Amazon gift card for switching to an eligible one or two-year fixed tariff, and Uswitch is providing a £50 Amazon gift card for choosing an eligible dual-fuel tariff. These deals are available to eligible Blue Light Card members, with terms and conditions applying.
How the offers work
The incentives are available through the Blue Light Card scheme, which is designed for frontline workers including NHS staff, emergency services personnel, and other eligible public sector employees. A Blue Light Card membership costs £4.99 and unlocks access to various discounts and offers across multiple sectors, including energy switching.
According to Blue Light Card, members saved more than £500 million through its offers during 2025. The organisation notes that the energy switching incentives are commercial offers, and Blue Light Card may receive commission if members switch via some links, with no extra cost to the customer.
Energy price cap context
These offers come as households prepare for energy bills to rise in October, with Ofgem's latest published figures showing the current price cap is £1,862 for a typical dual-fuel household paying by Direct Debit. Steffie Brader, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Blue Light Card, said: “With autumn approaching and many frontline workers concerned about rising energy bills, it’s more important than ever to take a few simple steps to make sure you’re not paying more than you need to.”
She added: “Reviewing your current tariff and checking whether there’s a better option for your household could help reduce monthly costs.” The energy deals were correct at the time of the announcement and may change.
