Among the closures, four branches in Birmingham are set to cease operations, affecting local communities. The specific locations include:

  • Birmingham Bordesley Green – June 16
  • Birmingham Kingstanding – June 3
  • Birmingham Maypole – June 4

This announcement comes on top of an ongoing closure programme by the bank, which will see an additional 49 sites shut by October 2026, further reducing physical banking presence.

Halifax and Bank of Scotland Also Impacted

Halifax branches facing closure include Armthorpe in South Yorkshire on March 17, Ashington in Northumberland on June 3, and Bognor Regis in West Sussex on June 15. Bank of Scotland sites such as Benbecula on July 1 and Blairgowrie on June 18 will also shut their doors, reflecting a broader trend across the group.

Banking Group Emphasises Digital Shift

Following the closures, Lloyds Bank will retain 610 branches nationwide. A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group stated, "Customers want the freedom to bank in the way that works for them, and we offer more choice and ways to manage money than ever before."
