Nationwide has confirmed that free £100 bonus payments will be made to four million customers this month as part of its popular Fairer Share scheme. Britain's biggest building society announced the initiative for the fourth consecutive summer, with eligible members receiving the money automatically without needing to take any action.
Payment Dates and Eligibility
Bosses confirmed that funds will arrive in bank accounts from Wednesday, June 10, 2026. To qualify, members must hold a Nationwide current account and either a savings account or a mortgage. Savings accounts must have contained at least £100 during March. It is too late for new members to join and become eligible.
The building society stated: "The Nationwide Fairer Share payment is £100 for the fourth year running. Over 4 million of our members will receive it. We will have paid out over £1.5 billion in total to eligible members since 2023. You must be a member of Nationwide with a qualifying current account, plus either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage. And you need to have met these criteria when we last checked on March 31 this year."
How the Payment Works
Eligible members will receive their £100 payment between June 10 and 30, 2026. The money will only be paid into an open Nationwide current account. Dame Debbie Crosbie, Nationwide’s chief executive, said: "More people than ever are choosing Nationwide. Our growth in mortgages, retail deposits and personal current accounts is leading the market, which means we can again make a Fairer Share payment to eligible members, and offer a new Member Exclusive Bond to all members."
This marks the fourth year of the scheme, which has distributed over £1.5 billion since 2023. Customers are advised to check their bank balances over the next couple of weeks to ensure they receive the payment.
