Nationwide Building Society, which has branches in Birmingham, has confirmed that four million of its customers will receive a free £100 cash boost. The popular Fairer Share payments will start entering millions of bank accounts from Wednesday, June 10.
Fourth Year of Payments
The £100 payments are returning for the fourth consecutive year, with around four million members set to receive the bonus. Money will be deposited automatically, and customers do not need to take any action. Some may see the funds in their accounts on Wednesday, though Nationwide has indicated it could take until June 30 for everyone to receive the payment.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, customers must have a Nationwide current account, along with either a savings account or a mortgage. Savings accounts must have contained at least £100 during March. The cut-off date was March 31, so it is now too late to take any action to qualify.
The Fairer Share initiative is one of the largest banking giveaways, designed to reward members who conduct most or all of their banking with Nationwide. The building society stated: "The Nationwide Fairer Share payment is £100 for the fourth year running. Over 4 million of our members will receive it. We will have paid out over £1.5 billion in total to eligible members since 2023."
Payment Details
Eligible members will receive their £100 payment between June 10 and 30, 2026. Payments will only be made into an open Nationwide current account. Dame Debbie Crosbie, Nationwide’s chief executive, said: "More people than ever are choosing Nationwide. Our growth in mortgages, retail deposits and personal current accounts is leading the market, which means we can again make a Fairer Share payment to eligible members, and offer a new Member Exclusive Bond to all members."
