NatWest has unveiled a new home insurance proposition in partnership with insurance technology platform Uinsure, enabling customers to receive a quote in under 60 seconds. The new NatWest Home Insurance Tracker allows policyholders to compare the cost and cover of their current home insurance, regardless of who they are insured with, and is designed to take the hassle out of reviewing cover regularly.
A competitive panel of insurers
The tracker uses a panel of leading UK insurers that compete on price for the same Defaqto 5 Star Rated cover, both at the point of purchase and at every renewal. That means customers do not need to sacrifice quality for cost, as the underlying cover meets a recognised industry standard.
Existing NatWest customers can access the service through the NatWest app, online, by phone, or in branch. Non-customers can also access the service online or by phone, making the proposition available beyond NatWest's current banking base.
Research shows many homeowners struggle to keep cover up to date
The launch comes alongside new research commissioned by NatWest and Uinsure among 2,000 UK homeowners. The findings highlight the challenge many consumers face in keeping their insurance up to date, with a tendency to stick with existing policies even when better deals may be available. The tracker directly addresses this by automatically checking whether a customer's current policy remains competitive, even if that policy is held with another provider.
Toni Powling, Head of Insurance at NatWest, said: "Alongside providing quality cover at a competitive price with a quote in seconds, the Home Insurance Tracker means our customers no longer have to keep checking whether they're getting a fair deal, because we'll do it for them, even if their cover isn't with us."
Powling added: "As a bank that supports one in three UK families, we understand the importance of making everyday financial decisions simpler. The Home Insurance Tracker makes insurance genuinely simple to manage."
Uinsure technology at the heart of the offer
Lauren Bagley, Chief Distribution Officer at Uinsure, described the partnership as a significant moment for both the company and the wider insurance market. "For a bank of NatWest's scale to put Uinsure's technology at the heart of its home insurance offer is a significant moment, for us and for the market," she said.
Bagley continued: "It shows that when the right technology exists, institutions with millions of customers can deliver insurance in a way that genuinely works, with a panel of leading insurers competing at purchase and at every renewal." She added that the company's insurance tracking technology "puts customers in control in a way they haven't had before and directly answers the challenge of switching hassle so many told us about in the research."
What this means for consumers
For homeowners, the practical benefit is clear: instead of manually comparing policies on comparison websites or waiting for renewal notices, the tracker can flag whether a better deal is available at any time. The integration with the NatWest app also means that customers with their banking and home insurance in one place can manage both more efficiently.
The partnership is described by Uinsure as the latest example of redefining how cover is offered. By embedding real-time market comparison into the banking experience, NatWest and Uinsure aim to reduce the inertia that often leaves households paying more than necessary for home insurance.
