BLOCK Expands to Manchester and Birmingham After £6m Boost

Flexible workspace provider BLOCK has expanded beyond its South West heartland with new developments in Manchester and Birmingham. The business, which launched in 2001, offers design-led flexible workspace in Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton and Bristol, all featuring wellbeing facilities from yoga studios to fitness suites.

BLOCK secured a £6m investment this year from the Gent Family Investment Company and Isca Ventures, enabling it to target sites in key UK cities. Now it has confirmed its first locations in the North West and West Midlands.

Manchester Site at Sunlight House

In Manchester, BLOCK will open in August at the landmark Sunlight House on Quay Street, off Deansgate. This Art Deco building has recently been refurbished, and BLOCK notes that demand for high-quality flexible space continues to grow in Manchester.

Birmingham Site at One Colmore Square

BLOCK is set to open its space at One Colmore Square in Birmingham city centre at the end of July. The company says it will target a mix of SMEs, scale-ups and corporate occupiers seeking flexibility in a prime city centre setting.

Ben Cheriton, founder and CEO of BLOCK Workspace, said: “These signings mark an important point in the growth of the business and reflect our ambition to build a national platform. Manchester and Birmingham are both strong office markets with sustained demand for high-quality, flexible space. Securing buildings of this calibre allows us to deliver our product in locations where we know it will resonate with occupiers. Following our recent investment, we are well positioned to continue expanding and to move quickly on further opportunities.”
