A targeted raid by West Midlands Police's County Lines Taskforce in Birmingham city centre has resulted in two men being charged with drug supply offences, with over £22,000 in cash seized alongside Class A drugs.
The operation took place on Thursday, May 14, at a property on Gooch Street, part of an investigation into the 'Max' drugs line, which is believed to be supplying heroin and crack cocaine from Birmingham into Worcester.
Officers discovered a significant quantity of crack cocaine and heroin, along with cash and drug-dealing paraphernalia, leading to the arrests of Hasnain Shahid, 33, from Jardine Road, Aston, and Suhed Hassan, 24, from Ettington Road, Aston.
Charges and Court Appearance
Shahid has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, and possessing criminal property in the form of £14,105 in cash.
Hassan faces similar charges, including being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, and possessing criminal property totalling £8,120 in cash.
Both men were remanded in custody and were due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Saturday, May 16.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Two men appearing at court today charged with multiple drug dealing offences. Our County Lines Taskforce carried out a warrant at an address in Gooch Street in Birmingham city centre, on Thursday. A large quantity of crack and heroin were seized from the property along with cash and drugs supply paraphernalia."
The spokesperson added: "The arrests are part of enforcement into the 'Max' drugs lines, which has been supplying Class A drugs from Birmingham into Worcester."
This raid underscores the ongoing efforts by West Midlands Police to dismantle County Lines networks that exploit vulnerable individuals and bring illegal drugs into communities across the region.
