Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is reportedly locked in a tense dispute with her ex-partner, footballer Scott Sinclair, over the future of their family home. The pair, who ended their 13-year relationship in 2022, are said to be at loggerheads as Sinclair pushes for Flanagan to leave the luxurious property.
The Heart of the Dispute: A Six-Bedroom Family Home
The central issue revolves around a substantial six-bedroom house, which was listed for sale at £1.5 million last year before the price was later reduced to £995,000. According to sources, Scott Sinclair, 36, continues to cover the costs for the property, where Helen Flanagan, 35, lives with their three children. He is now reportedly urging her to move to a smaller home.
A source explained the situation, stating: "Scott pays for the house and all the bills, and he's decided a six-bedroom place is way too big for Helen on her own with the kids." The insider added that Sinclair has proposed buying Flanagan a four-bedroom home and putting it in her name, on the condition he can stop the ongoing maintenance payments for their current residence.
Flanagan's Stance: Stability for the Children
Helen Flanagan is allegedly resisting the move, determined to maintain stability for their children. The actress shares three children with Sinclair: Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and four-year-old son Charlie.
"Helen doesn't want to move and is digging her heels in," the source revealed. "She loves the place, the kids are settled at the local school, and her mum and dad live around the corner." This desire to avoid disrupting the children's lives and education is said to be her primary reason for wanting to stay put.
A Fractured Relationship and Public Spats
The property disagreement comes amid reports that the former couple are no longer on speaking terms following their split. Their breakup in 2022, after more than a decade together, was attributed by Flanagan to constant arguing.
The tension has occasionally spilled into public view. Recently, Flanagan launched a social media attack on Sinclair for missing their son Charlie's nativity play because he attended the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. She wrote bluntly: "You really are a piece of s***. How dare you not turn up to Charlie's nativity."
Reflecting on the end of their relationship on the Naughty Corner podcast, Flanagan offered a poignant insight. "I still love him very much, I care about him deeply, but we don't like each other. We don't like each other at all, we don't get on," she admitted. She confirmed she was the one who ultimately ended the relationship, stating they were "always quietly breaking up and then getting back together."
Despite the lingering care, Flanagan emphasised the exhaustion from conflict, saying: "I'm so done, I could never have another relationship again where we would always be bickering. I haven't got another argument in me." The current dispute over their family home underscores the ongoing challenges of navigating separation, especially when children and shared assets are involved.
