Alfred Works shortlisted for Best Food Hall award 2026

Alfred Works, the food hall in Digbeth that opened in February 2026, has been shortlisted for Best Food Hall at the British Street Food Awards 2026. The venue is hoping to bring home a win for Birmingham after Sheffield's Cambridge Street Collective claimed the title in 2024 and 2025.

Newcomer recognised within first year of trading

Located in Digbeth, Alfred Works is home to 18 independently owned global kitchens, offering a range of cuisines and cultures under one roof. Since opening, the food hall has established itself as a destination for Birmingham's food and drink community, championing independent food partners and creating a space for guests to eat, drink and socialise.

The nomination comes within Alfred Works' first year of trading, recognising the work of the team and its independent kitchen partners in creating a new food and drink destination in one of Birmingham's most iconic areas. The venue is part of the Blend Family, which also operates Cambridge Street Collective in Sheffield.

Blend Family celebrates multiple nominations

Previous years saw Cambridge Street Collective claim the title in 2024 and 2025 following its opening in Sheffield. Together, the nominations highlight Blend Family's continued impact on the UK's food hall landscape and its commitment to creating vibrant destinations that bring independent food and drink businesses, local communities and guests together.

Nina, COO of Blend Family, said: "To see Alfred Works recognised within its first six months of trading is incredibly special and shows the strength of our approach and the communities we're building. Alfred Works is about bringing people together through food, and we're incredibly proud of what the team has created in such a short space of time. To have multiple Blend Family food halls recognised this year makes this moment even more special to us all!"
