Two major stores at Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre have temporarily closed for significant renovations, marking the latest in a series of retail refreshments at the venue. Nando's, located on the lower ground floor, has boarded up for a makeover, with signage promising shoppers "We're having a glow up!" The restaurant, which has been part of the Bullring since it opened in 2003, has not yet announced a reopening date.
H&M Home's Upper Level Closure
Meanwhile, H&M Home's upper level unit, situated near Marks and Spencer, has also closed. Scarlet hoarding at the site tells shoppers "something new is coming," sparking speculation that the space may transition from homeware to womenswear when it reopens. The exact nature of the change has not been confirmed by the retailer.
These closures follow similar moves by Claire's Accessories, AllSaints, JD Sports, and Lovisa, all of which have relocated to renovated units within the shopping centre. The trend suggests a broader effort to modernise and refresh retail spaces at the Bullring.
New Additions and Future Plans
Korean street food joint Bunsk is also set to open soon in Grand Central, adding to the centre's dining options. Canadian fashion brand Garage has been signed to the shopping centre, though its exact location remains undisclosed. Additionally, Birmingham Hospice has opened a charity shop in Grand Central, featuring designer items including Valentino shoes.
These changes are part of an ongoing transformation at the Bullring, with more updates expected as renovations progress and new tenants move in.
