An award-winning restaurant chain with a well-loved branch in Solihull is set to expand into Birmingham city centre. KIBOU Kitchen and Bar will open its seventh venue this autumn at 61-63 Temple Row, taking over the site currently occupied by Riva Blu, which will serve its final meals on Sunday, June 21.
New Venue Details
The new restaurant will accommodate 200 diners across a bar, lounge, main dining area, and private dining space. It will feature an open sushi kitchen and a standalone bar facing Cathedral Square, often referred to locally as Pigeon Park.
KIBOU is known for its Japanese cuisine, offering sushi, sashimi, and sharing plates such as chicken karaage, spiced pork gyoza, and tempura. The menu also includes ramen, katsu curry, teriyaki, and A5 Joshu wagyu beef. A selection of cocktails, Japanese whisky, umeshu, and sake will be available at the bar.
Strong Business Performance
The company reports its strongest trading year on record, with significant year-on-year revenue growth. The new Birmingham site will feature a fresh Japanese-inspired design, including hand-painted and digital murals with bold, colourful patterns.
In addition to Solihull, KIBOU operates restaurants in Battersea, Cheltenham, Cambridge, Oxford, and Bristol.
Management Comments
Sam Horswill, managing director at KIBOU Restaurants Ltd, said: "We've had our eye on Birmingham for a long time and we're so excited to be growing our brand and opening our newest site in the heart of the city.
"Some people may be familiar with KIBOU after having visited our nearby Solihull restaurant and we can't wait to become part of the Birmingham community too.
"Following exceptional growth across the business, this marks a real step change in our ambitions and an exciting new chapter for the brand."
Further details on the opening date will be announced in due course.
