Lidl's Massive £5 Million Easter Giveaway via App

Lidl is launching one of its largest-ever promotional campaigns this Easter, offering customers a chance to win a share of a staggering £5 million in vouchers exclusively through the Lidl Plus app. The giveaway is set to run from Thursday, March 26, to Saturday, April 4, providing daily surprises for app users.

Daily Voucher Surprises and App Interaction

Throughout the 10-day period, Lidl will distribute 100,000 £50 vouchers in total, with 10,000 up for grabs each day. To participate, shoppers simply need to open the Lidl Plus app and tap to 'crack' a virtual egg, revealing their daily deal. No purchase is necessary to play, making it accessible to all app users.

The £50 vouchers are not the only incentives available. Lidl is also offering a variety of other deals, including £5 stretch spend coupons, free product coupons, and discounts on popular Easter items. However, coupons must be activated before use, and each daily deal will only be valid for a limited time, encouraging prompt action from customers.

Context of Rising Food Costs and Competing Offers

This giveaway comes at a time when food prices are continuing to rise, putting additional pressure on household budgets, especially with the Easter holidays approaching and children spending more time at home. In response to these challenges, other supermarkets are also stepping up with supportive offers.

For instance, Iceland and The Food Warehouse have launched an exclusive promotion through their Bonus Club scheme, aimed at assisting vulnerable families during the school break. Over 950 stores will accept free school meal vouchers, and Bonus Club customers can receive a free £5 top-up when they spend a minimum of £15 on School Meal Gift Cards in-store between March 24 and April 13, 2026.

To qualify for Iceland's offer, families must have a registered Bonus Card, which is free to sign up for via the Bonus Club app. Eligible customers will also benefit from curated deals on lunch snacks, essentials, and meals, such as 4 for £4.80 or buy two get one free promotions.

Lidl's Easter giveaway highlights the competitive landscape in the supermarket sector, with retailers leveraging digital apps to engage customers and provide financial relief during holiday periods. The combination of high-value vouchers, free products, and time-sensitive deals aims to drive app usage and customer loyalty while addressing broader economic concerns.
