Birmingham City striker Marvin Ducksch is attracting attention from clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, with his time at the club potentially ending after just one season.
Interest Mounting in Ducksch
The two-time Germany international joined Blues from Werder Bremen last summer on a three-year contract, but there are no guarantees he will see a second season in the Second City. Ducksch netted 11 goals in 36 matches across all competitions, making him joint top goalscorer alongside Jay Stansfield.
However, his season was marred by an off-field incident in April when he was arrested and charged with drink driving hours after Blues lost to Ipswich Town on Easter Monday. Ducksch was punished internally before manager Chris Davies reintegrated him into the squad for the trip to Hull City on April 18. The 32-year-old was a second-half substitute in the draw with the Tigers but remained an unused substitute in the club’s final three games.
Davies appears keen to move forward with Stansfield and August Priske as the club’s strike force, and Ducksch could be sold this summer.
Bundesliga Clubs and Hertha BSC Interest
In March, German publication BILD reported that Ducksch is of interest to Bundesliga clubs, La Liga side Real Sociedad, AEK Athens, and MLS outfits. Now, German broadcaster RTL/ntv claims that Bundesliga II side Hertha BSC have registered their interest in Ducksch. The striker has enjoyed prolific spells in the second tier of German football with Holstein Kiel and Hannover 96.
