Mello, a new cafe serving quality coffee and locally sourced food, has opened inside the Reloved Brum charity superstore in Harborne. To celebrate its launch, the cafe is offering all coffees for £2 on Tuesday, September 8, with all proceeds going to Birmingham Hospice.
Mello brings coffee and food to Harborne superstore
Co-founders Bhav Chamdal and Josh Thomas have spent the past few weeks preparing Mello, which is located on the mezzanine of the shop at 48-50 High Street, Harborne, Birmingham B17 9NE. The cafe offers breakfast and lunch options, as well as pastries and treats, all with a sustainable and local ethos.
Reloved Brum is a large Birmingham Hospice store with two floors of bargains, frequently compared to high-end boutiques like Urban Outfitters for its trendy displays.
Supporting Birmingham Hospice through fundraising
Josh said: “We are very excited to introduce Mello to the Harborne superstore. As members of the Harborne community ourselves it’s extra special to us to be able to bring our coffee and some great food to the high street whilst supporting Birmingham Hospice. We can’t wait to get started!”
Birmingham Hospice is not fully funded by the government and relies on fundraising and retail activity from its 27 stores across the region. This year, it needs to raise £8 million through fundraising activity, income from shops and voluntary donations to cover the costs of running the charity.
Store manager welcomes new cafe experience
Ed Blackwell, Store Manager at Reloved Brum, said: “We’re thrilled to have Mello café in store at Reloved Brum, serving drinks and tasty food from locally sourced ingredients. We’re excited for customers to enjoy some tasty treats while shopping for bargains in the heart of Harborne, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the community.”
Mello café will give Reloved Brum shoppers the option to have quality food and drink while shopping to support their local hospice.
