Morrisons expands home delivery at Daily stores

Morrisons has confirmed a major expansion of its home delivery service across its network of Daily convenience stores, marking a significant milestone for the supermarket’s convenience arm. The retailer is partnering with delivery platform Snappy Shopper to offer customers rapid access to groceries at a time when demand for quick and flexible online shopping continues to rise.

Currently, 100 Morrisons Daily stores are live on the Snappy Shopper platform, giving thousands of households access to fast, convenient grocery delivery. The company has announced that a further 100 Daily store locations will be added to the delivery service during 2027, doubling the number of convenience sites offering the facility.

Partnership with Snappy Shopper

Snappy Shopper is a well-established delivery service that links local convenience stores with customers looking for quick home delivery. Through the partnership, shoppers can order from their nearest participating Morrisons Daily store and have groceries delivered directly to their door without having to travel or queue.

Charlotte Exell, Morrisons group online director, said the company was “pleased to expand” the collaboration between Snappy Shopper and Morrisons Daily stores. She added: “This rollout gives households in England and Wales even more convenient ways to get fresh food and groceries from Morrisons delivered straight to their door.”

The expansion also reflects confidence in the partnership from both sides. Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Shopper, said the move highlights “the strong performance of the partnership to date and our shared ambition to make fast, reliable grocery delivery available to even more customers.” He added: “By combining Morrisons Daily’s trusted convenience offering with Snappy Shopper’s technology, we’re helping retailers grow online while providing shoppers with greater choice and convenience.”

Franchise model gains momentum

The home delivery rollout comes as Morrisons continues to grow its Daily franchise network, which is seen as a key driver for the company’s future in the convenience sector. Morrisons currently operates more than 1,700 convenience stores across the UK, of which around 700 are franchise sites run by independent retailers. These include convenience stores and fuel forecourts situated in busy, convenient locations nationwide.

Paul Dobson, Morrisons Wholesale Director, emphasised the importance of franchise partners to the company’s growth strategy. Speaking at a recent conference, he said: “Our franchise partners are the engine for the future growth for Morrisons Daily and this conference was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our shared successes.” He added: “We are entirely committed to supporting their businesses by reducing operational costs and making the very best of Morrisons - from our skilled teams to innovations like our Hot Weather Club - fully available to them.”

The strong turnout at the conference underscores the momentum behind the Morrisons Daily franchise model as it continues to scale its presence in the competitive convenience sector. By offering more services such as home delivery, the company aims to strengthen the value proposition for both franchisees and customers.

Future rollout and opportunities

The next wave of stores will be integrated with Snappy Shopper during 2027, bringing the total number of Morrisons Daily sites offering delivery to 200. This will significantly expand the geographic reach of the service, particularly in residential and suburban areas where convenience delivery is in high demand.

Morrisons also confirmed that independent retailers interested in becoming a Morrisons franchise or learning more about Morrisons Wholesale can visit the Morrisons Daily website for more information. The company sees franchise growth as central to its strategy in the convenience market, and the addition of home delivery is expected to make the franchise proposition even more attractive.

The move is part of a broader trend in the UK grocery sector, where supermarkets are increasingly using technology partnerships to offer faster, more flexible delivery options. For Morrisons, the combination of its trusted brand, local store network, and Snappy Shopper’s logistics technology could help it compete effectively with other convenience delivery services.
