Marks & Spencer is set to significantly boost its presence on the British high street with the unveiling of a major new flagship store in the historic city of Bath.
A Showstopping New Destination for Shoppers
The retail giant has confirmed that its newest flagship location will open its doors to the public on February 4. The store will be situated in the Bath Southgate area, with specific opening hours to be announced in the coming weeks.
Store Manager Natalie Jordan expressed her team's excitement, stating they are "counting down the days" to reveal the showstopping new space. She emphasised that the store is designed to deliver "the very best of M&S" with new products alongside the chain's trusted value and quality.
What Shoppers Can Expect Inside
The new M&S Bath Southgate promises a comprehensive shopping experience under one roof. A key feature will be a vibrant market-style food hall, complete with an in-store bakery and fresh produce sourced from the retailer's Select Farms.
Shoppers will also find dedicated flower and wine shops, and can take a break at a brand-new 140-seater M&S Coffee Shop. Beyond food, the store will house an extensive range of home and kitchenware.
The fashion offering is set to be a major draw. Customers will be able to browse the Womenswear Autograph line and the latest collection from the premium brand Jaeger, known for its tailored pieces.
Completing the experience will be a spacious beauty hall, stocking a wide array of skincare and makeup from brands including Clinique, Estee Lauder, Hello Sunday, TYPEBEA, Sam McKnight, and ESPA.
Part of a Wider National Expansion Strategy
This opening is not an isolated event but a central part of M&S's ambitious store renewal and expansion programme across the UK. The Bath flagship is one of more than 20 new or substantially renewed shops either recently opened or planned nationwide.
This follows the recent full opening of the transformed Merry Hill store in the Midlands, which now serves as that region's flagship. Deputy Store Manager Rebecca Brain highlighted the successful phased reveal of its enhanced womenswear, kidswear, and beauty offerings there.
Natalie Jordan in Bath noted that her team has welcomed 40 new joiners in preparation for the launch, underscoring the investment and job creation linked to such expansions. She concluded by saying the team "can’t wait to welcome local residents and visitors to the city alike" to the new retail destination.
