Tesco has issued an urgent 19-day warning to its millions of Clubcard shoppers, urging them to check their accounts for unused vouchers or risk losing their value.
Act Before the Deadline
Shoppers must redeem any outstanding Clubcard vouchers before the cutoff point at midnight on November 30. After this date, the vouchers will become worthless. An estimated £16.5 million worth of vouchers are set to expire before December begins.
These vouchers, which have a standard validity period of two years, can be used directly to reduce the cost of your weekly grocery shop, fuel purchases at Tesco petrol stations, or bills with Tesco Mobile.
How to Maximise Your Vouchers
The most significant opportunity for customers lies in the Clubcard Rewards scheme. Shoppers can effectively double the value of their vouchers by exchanging them with over 100 reward partners.
Two standout offers include the new Tesco Tuesdays promotion with Cineworld, where £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers secures a cinema ticket for Tuesday showings. There is also a triple-value offer with PizzaExpress, turning £10 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers into a £30 discount on food.
Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, commented: "We don't want anyone to miss out on making the most of their Tesco Clubcard Vouchers, and with some great new offers with Clubcard Rewards this really is a great time to use those vouchers up."
The Scale of What's at Stake
The value of vouchers expiring this quarter is notably higher than usual. Tesco highlighted that if all the expiring vouchers were used for the Tesco Tuesdays cinema deal, it would be enough to purchase a staggering 6.6 million cinema tickets at Cineworld.
Alternatively, if exchanged with PizzaExpress, the vouchers could generate an incredible £49.5 million in reward codes for food. The simplest way to check your voucher balance is via the Tesco app.
Clubcard points are earned by presenting your card when shopping in-store, buying fuel, or while charging electric vehicles at Pod charging points located at Tesco. The scheme is hugely popular, with over 24 million UK households currently holding a Tesco Clubcard.
