Aldi is launching a Supermarket Sweep-style trolley dash competition for shoppers in the West Midlands and across England and Wales. Ten lucky winners will have five minutes to race through the aisles of their local Aldi store, filling their trolleys with as many items as possible.
How the Competition Works
Entrants must submit their full name and email address to aldisupermarketsweep@aldi.co.uk by 11.59pm on August 4. Participants must be aged 18 or over, with only one entry per person allowed. The full value of all goods collected during the dash will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust.
Fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust
This is the first time Aldi has brought its Supermarket Sweep fundraiser to England and Wales. The initiative follows a long-running version in Scotland that has raised over £60,000 for charity over the past decade. Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK's chief commercial officer, said: "Our customers are always incredibly supportive of the causes we champion, and we're pleased to be bringing this much-loved fundraising initiative to England and Wales for the first time. We can't wait to give shoppers the opportunity to put their trolley-dashing skills to the test, while helping to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust."
Impact on Young People with Cancer
Vikki Calcutt, co-director of engagement at Teenage Cancer Trust, added: "Cancer kills more teenagers and young adults in the UK than any other disease, yet cancer care wasn't made for young people. Teenage Cancer Trust exists to make sure no young person goes through the trauma of cancer alone - but we can't do it without support. That's why we're so grateful to Aldi for supporting us over the last nine years. Thank you to everyone getting involved and helping to make a difference – and good luck to all the trolley dashers!"
Terms and Conditions
Full terms and conditions are available online. The competition is open to residents of England and Wales only. Aldi encourages all eligible shoppers to enter for a chance to win and support a vital cause.
