The 'Judd Wolf Pack', a team of ten from Bromsgrove-based Judd Medical, will take on the Autumn Wolf Run on Sunday, September 13, to raise funds for the Royal Orthopaedic Charity's Oncology Appeal.
This year's event at Offchurch Bury marks the 15th anniversary of the Wolf Run, which was created and organised by a local farming family in 2011. The brothers who founded it remain at the heart of the business today.
Supporting cancer patients
Judd Medical has supplied specialist medical products to The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for many years, building close relationships with the clinicians and teams who support patients through cancer treatment. The funds raised will help transform side rooms on the oncology ward into warm, calming and homely spaces, improving comfort, dignity and wellbeing for patients during a difficult time.
"It's going to be tough, messy and a real test of teamwork, but it's all for a cause that truly matters," the team say on their JustGiving page. "Supporting the hospital beyond our day‑to‑day work and helping improve the experience of patients going through cancer treatment is something we feel genuinely passionate about."
The challenge ahead
The team will join thousands of runners at Offchurch Bury on September 13, tackling mud pits, lakes, woodland trails and obstacles as part of one of the UK's most fun endurance events. Unlike other obstacle course races, the Wolf Run isn't about being the fastest, and no one is timed.
The event is designed to get people out in the countryside, connecting with nature and those taking part alongside you, reminding adults of the importance of getting stuck in and just having fun.
