A national assistance dog charity is opening its doors to families and four-legged friends for its annual fundraising event. Canine Partners will host a Family Fun Day and Dog Show on Saturday, August 1, at its National Training Centre in Osgathorpe, Leicestershire.
Visitors can enjoy live music, local stalls, and interactive activities throughout the day, with the highlight being a live demonstration by trained assistance dogs. Experienced handler Ann and her dog Libby will showcase complex tasks such as unloading washing machines and retrieving dropped items, illustrating the life-changing support these dogs provide to people with disabilities.
Dog Show and Pet Activities
Pets can also take part in a friendly dog show featuring categories for all ages and breeds. Additional activities include a popular carrot bobbing challenge in the main display area, offering fun for both dogs and owners.
Entertainment and Attractions
The event will open with an arrival of vintage tractors from the Canineball Road Run. Live musical entertainment will be provided across the afternoon by local band The Ox-Eye Daisies. Children and adults can also take advantage of a face painting stall offering custom designs throughout the day.
Entry fees of £5 per car (payable by cash or card) directly support the charity in training dogs to assist people with disabilities.
