Charity Summer Fair Returns to Ashford with Family Fun and Dog Show

The annual Pilgrims Hospices Summer Fair is returning to Ashford on Sunday, July 26, promising a day of family entertainment while raising vital funds for hospice care across East Kent. Last year's event raised an impressive £17,000, and organisers are aiming to match or exceed that total in 2025.

Event Highlights and New Attractions

The fair will take place at Sandyacres Sports & Social Club on Sandyacres Lane from noon to 5pm, with free entry and donations welcome. New for this year is a special family dog show with various fun categories for four-legged friends. Visitors can also enjoy live music, seasonal food, inflatable fun, children's games, and browse traditional stalls selling crafts, cakes, and jewellery.

A grand prize draw offers excellent prizes including a glamping stay and local attraction tickets. Food options on the day will include hot dogs, burgers, ice creams, and traditional tea and cake.

Fundraising Impact and Community Support

Louise Newman, fundraising manager at Pilgrims Hospices, said: "Last year’s Summer Fair raised an incredible £17,000 to support hospice care across East Kent, and we would love to achieve another fantastic fundraising total this year. The fair is always such a special community event, bringing together families, supporters, volunteers and local businesses for an afternoon of fun, laughter and friendship, while helping us continue to provide vital care for local people and their loved ones."

How to Support the Fair

Organisers are appealing for donations of unopened bottles, chocolates, and toys to support the tombola stalls. These items can be dropped off at the hospice site on Hythe Road or at The Wardrobe shop on North Street in Ashford. Everyone is welcome to attend the celebration to make memories and support essential medical care in the community.
