A charity truck pull event organised by Bad Company Strength CIC will take place at Horley Town Football Club on Saturday, July 25, with a fundraising target of £3,000 for three local causes. Organiser Peter Hibberd has arranged the unique fundraiser to support families in need and people who are unwell.
Event Details and Competitions
Spectators can watch strongmen and women race head-to-head against each other and the clock while attached to 10-tonne lorries. Competitors will tackle three gruelling rounds: a rope and harness pull, a truck push, and an arm-over-arm drag. The event runs from 10am, with free entry and no advanced booking required.
Fundraising Goals and Beneficiaries
Money raised will support the neonatal unit at East Surrey Hospital and the Ten Little Toes Baby Bank in Crawley. Funds will also go towards Can't Afford To Be Ill, a new organisation setting up registered charity status to help people who are unwell. Hibberd has set a fundraising target of £3,000 for the chosen causes this year.
If the community reaches this impressive goal, Peter will undergo a painful back wax forfeit at the event. Attendees can donate £5 for the unique opportunity to pull off one of the wax strips themselves.
Family Entertainment and Amenities
The day promises plenty of family entertainment alongside the main strength competitions. Visitors can enjoy a live DJ playing music throughout the day and grab food from a burger van. The local football club will also open its licensed bar for refreshments during the afternoon.
How to Donate
Donations will be collected throughout the day via collection buckets and tap-to-pay stations. People can also support the causes online by searching for the official donation page on GoFundMe.
