Man Creates Card Game After Battle with Crohn's Disease
Crohn's Battle Inspires New Card Game

Ashlee Roberts, a former board game café manager from Port Talbot, South Wales, has turned his personal struggle with Crohn's disease into a new card game called 'It Takes Guts'. After undergoing major surgery and spending much of the past year recovering at home, Roberts designed the game to offer a light-hearted yet chaotic experience based on the realities of living with complex stomach conditions.

Inspiration from Illness

Roberts, who has lived with Crohn's disease—a condition causing swelling in the digestive system—poured his heart into the project during a difficult period that also included facing redundancy from his job. The game aims to bring humor and awareness to the challenges of chronic bowel conditions.

Crowdfunding Success

The game has launched on Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding platform, to help bring the creative project to life. Backers can support 'It Takes Guts' and receive early copies of the game. Roberts hopes the game will resonate with others who have similar health struggles and provide a fun way to discuss often-taboo topics.
