DENS Homeless Charity Launches More Than Appeal for New HQ Equipment
DENS Launches More Than Appeal for New HQ Equipment

DENS, a homelessness charity, has launched the More Than Appeal, a new fundraising campaign to equip its upcoming headquarters with essential items. The charity aims to raise £20,000 to purchase everyday equipment such as mugs, laptops, and chairs for the new DENS Centre building, which is currently under construction in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council.

How Donations Make a Difference

The charity emphasises that simple items can transform lives. For instance, a mug is not just a mug; a hot drink can mark the moment a person begins tackling rental arrears to keep their home. Donations will support DENS's services, including therapy, financial literacy courses, tenancy support, employability training, and a food bank.

Match Funding and Recognition

The first £5,000 of donations will be automatically doubled through match funding, thanks to a generous supporter. Those who donate £1,000 or more will receive special recognition, with their names featured on a dedicated Giving Tree display at the new centre.

Celebrity Support

The appeal has also gained support from DENS patron Adrian Scarborough, an award-winning actor known for his role in Gavin and Stacey, who has backed the campaign online. To donate, visit www.dens.org.uk/more-than.
