A team of 11 individuals from the Diagrama Foundation is set to take on a charity skydive on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. The event aims to raise £25,000 to support vulnerable children and adults served by the charity.
Inspiration Behind the Skydive
The idea originated from Graham, a resident at Duckyls Farm Cottage, one of Diagrama's residential services for adults with learning disabilities. Graham wanted to give back to the charity that transformed his life by proposing this challenge. The team includes staff and people supported by Diagrama, demonstrating courage and teamwork.
Fundraising Goals and Impact
The funds will be directed towards projects such as creating accessible learning spaces, providing sensory and wellbeing resources, expanding enrichment activities, increasing access to therapeutic support, and developing outdoor learning opportunities. These initiatives aim to build confidence, develop skills, and enrich lives.
Participant Perspectives
Reece, a Duckyls Farm resident for nine months, shared his excitement: "I've never done it before, so I thought it would be an interesting thing to do, and I am a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. I love going on roller coasters and looking at fast cars." Paul, a two-year resident, added: "This will be the first time I've ever done a skydive and I always wanted to do it. It's very exciting. The reason why I'd like to do the skydive is so we can get more machinery on the farm."
