It was all hands on deck at this year's St David's Hospice Dragon Boat Festival as crews took to the water, raising over £22,000 for the north Wales charity - with donations still splashing in.
Local Teams Compete on Llyn Padarn
Local businesses and community groups jumped aboard the beautifully carved dragon boats at Llyn Padarn in Llanberis. Competitors took on a series of fun-filled races along the course with seas of spectators cheering them onto the finish line.
Overall Winners: Lyons Pendyffryn Holiday Park
The overall winners on the day were Lyons Pendyffryn Holiday Park, who have been taking part in the festival since 2025. A spokesperson from the team said; “A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported the teams and helped raise money for St David's Hospice. From early starts and team talks to cheering from the sidelines and celebrating back at the park, the atmosphere was incredible from start to finish. Our favourite part of the Dragon Boat Race weekend was seeing owners, friends and families come together once again for a fantastic cause.”
Festival Activities and Fundraising
As well as fun on the water, the festival featured fundraising stalls, a delicious barbecue, and family-friendly activities throughout the day - all helping to raise money for St David's Hospice.
Hospice Expresses Gratitude
A spokesperson from St David's Hospice said; “We are very grateful to all the teams for taking part and for their great spirits throughout the day. The amazing amount raised will make such a difference to our charity and we very much appreciate the support from all who contributed. We are also grateful to the support received from Cyngor Gwynedd, the Llanberis community and to event sponsor, 4 Crosses Construction Ltd”.
