A leading rescue charity is inviting motorcyclists from across the region to sign up for a spectacular autumn riding event. The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance is calling on bikers to join its popular annual Motorcycle Run to support its emergency medical service. Thousands of riders will come together on Sunday, September 6 for the massive community event.
Event Details
The charity ride will travel from the North Weald Airbase to Kings Farm in Chelmsford. Riders can choose to take part individually, with a passenger, or alongside a larger group of friends. By taking part, people will be helping to raise vital funds for the round-the-clock emergency service. The money will support highly skilled pilots, critical care paramedics, and pre-hospital care doctors who bring advanced treatment directly to patients.
Why Support This Cause
The charity receives no government or national lottery funding and relies entirely on the support of local communities to keep flying. In 2025 alone, the teams responded to 106 motorcycle-related incidents across the region. The event has long been one of the most popular fundraisers for the charity, attracting generations of riders over the years.
Adam Carr from the charity said: “As both a biker and a paramedic, the Motorcycle Run is always a highlight for me. I have taken part in the event for many years and have seen first-hand the incredible sense of community that exists within the biking world. Motorcyclists are passionate about looking out for one another and supporting causes that make a real difference. Every rider taking part is helping ensure Essex and Herts Air Ambulance can continue delivering advanced emergency care to those who need it most. Having attended incidents involving motorcyclists throughout my career, I know just how important it is that specialist critical care can reach patients quickly. The Motorcycle Run is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a great day out with fellow riders while helping to fund a service that is there for people when they need it most.”
Mark Jarman-Howe from the charity added: “The Motorcycle Run has always been a hugely special event for us and for the biking community that has supported Essex and Herts Air Ambulance for so many years. Motorcyclists understand better than most how important rapid critical care can be, and this event is a fantastic opportunity to bring riders together, celebrate that community spirit and raise vital funds for the charity. As a charity that receives no government or national lottery funding, events like this play an important role in helping us continue providing life-saving care across our region. Whether you are riding on your own, with friends, as part of a motorcycle club or alongside fellow enthusiasts, we would love to welcome you to take part and support Essex and Herts Air Ambulance this September.”
